September 8

Most classes are in full swing and all of the students I know are taking waaayyyy more than I am. I have it really easy but I'm not going to take more classes if only four will transfer back to my academics at CSU. Here's my schedule -

Monday - Economic Sociology - 12-2 (Starts October 24)
Tuesday - Economic Sociology - 4-6 (Starts October 24)
Wednesday - Re Thinking Tourism - 2-4
Thursday - Intro to Tourism - 10-12 and 2-4
Intro to EU Studies - 4-6

To sum it all up, I only have classes on Wednesday and Thursday for the first half of the semester. Five day weekend!! I get to do a lot of sight seeing and maybe a little traveling.

The weather here is acting similar to back at home (I think). It got chilly out of nowhere. It went from being 80something to 59 and raining in one day.. My body just knows when it's cold and rainy because I can never get out of bed on days like this. Luckily my class isn't until 4pm.

The cleaning ladies came in and all I could do was raise my head and say "Koszi" (Thank you). I really hope that wasn't rude. Even though we can't speak the same language I think we have a bond. We smile, sometimes she laughs at me. Not in a mean way, she laughs when I try to help or the time I asked if I tip.. It's not normal to have a cleaning lady in the dorms back home so to me this is a privilege and I try to be as nice and respectful as possible to them, even helping out some. I don't know what they are saying but I think they are some of the nicest women I'll meet.

I haven't been sight seeing much in the past few days, that's why there is no new pictures. I've just been trying to fit in with the people here and slowly talking to more students around campus. There's this one girl that I had a ten minute conversation with at the door for the dorms that I really hope I run into again because we were very similar in personality and style. I've found a new past-time that I think I will do often (when weather permits). By the main buildings on campus there is an area with benches and a fountain. I guess at CSU we would call it the quad. A new friend of mine named Adam and I have been getting beers and just sitting and talking, learning about each other and each other's countries. Yesterday he even brought a hookah. It's just really chill and cool. I also like to sit at this particular patio cafe in the city center and drink a latte. Yea, I'm slowly but surely finding my place here.

If the weather is nice then tomorrow I will go to Var Utca. (Castle District Road) and the szinhaz and szinhaz kert (theatre and theatre park) and take pictures.

Until then, here is a pic I took while Skyping last night.

There's more where that came from but I don't want to bore y'all :)

*SN - I got to be more careful with my coffee intake here. It's so much stronger!
