1. There are no unlimited phone plans. Also, if you call some one with another provider than yours, it's more expensice.
2. No AC except for a few stores and some houses. Only one room (the auditorium) in the university has AC. It's not too hot but it feels worse because I can never cool down! I actually can't wait until it gets cold.
3. They use ethanol!! Veszprem (and I think Hungary in general) is very environmentally conscious but when I made a comment about it the person looked at me like I was stupid. They don't think of it as being anything special, it's just normal.
4. Pizzas - corn is a normal topping and pepperonis are not pepperonis like back home. They are something similar to banana peppers.. pepper - oni... so my pizza last night had ham, corn, and pepperonis. (There are few other words that are the same but mean something totally different. I'm learning the hard way.)
5. American brands (Coca Cola products especially) taste different. For example - Sprite isn't as sweet here. I kinda like it better.
6. Overall, people are more friendly and they say what they mean. There is no guessing if they're being nice to your face and talking behind your back. If they don't like you then you will know it and if they like you they treat you with the utmost respect. From what I can tell so far there is much less drama in social groups and between friends. They're just more genuine here.
